Last week (July 9-10, 2020) we successfully carried out the next training on development and participation in projects of the European Framework Program for Research and Innovation HORIZON 2020, which took place on the basis of the National Contact Point Euratom in Ukraine (NSC KIPT). The training is a scheduled CSA event of the UAinEuratom project (GA # 822257) funded by the European Commission under the Euratom Program (HORIZON 2020).
The training on July 9-10, 2020 consisted of two parts:
The training has been attended by 14 participants who are representatives of the NSC KIPT NAS of Ukraine and academic science and have the experience in call participation or intend to become part of research and innovation activities on Euratom calls. During the training participants were divided into 4 groups, each of which was busy with training tasks related to the creation of proposals or understanding the costs of European Commission projects.
The participants have had a chance to look beyond the horizon of the current HORIZON 2020 program (i.e. what does the future hold in the next 7-year cycle called HORIZON EUROPE), to consider the possibilities of the Funding and Tenders Opportunities portal, to discuss partner search channels, to carry out the correspondence analysis between different types of projects and Technology Readiness Level, to specify project proposals, to discuss universal work packages of framework program drafts, to consider the structure and submission of technical and financial reports, to calculate project budgets and declare expenses in accordance with the requirements of the European Commission, as well as to find out more about the peculiarities of procurement in large organizations.
At the end of the training the participants received certificates from the National Contact Point Euratom in Ukraine.
We express our gatitude to Georgii Yakovlev team (NSC KIPT) for providing the training with information on procurement planning taking into account the peculiarities of the national legislation, which is equally important, especially for accounting for financial risks when declaring equipment costs and for organizational support in training delivery.
